WHAT IS OUR MISSION?
The mission of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is to serve and protect persons and property in Jefferson County. The responsibilities associated with this mission are many. They include enforcement of federal and state laws; maintaining the peace and order of the county; protecting personal safety and property; assisting citizens in urgent situations; and providing public safety education and information.

The Jefferson County’s Office of Emergency Management coordinates mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities for all-hazard incidents within the jurisdiction to provide for life safety and to protect critical facilities and infrastructure.
